About the Role
The firm is looking for an attorney who can pivot quickly, think strategically, and approach problems with both creativity and pragmatism. The work spans the full spectrum of corporate insolvency, including:
• Chapter 11 reorganizations
• Out‑of‑court workouts
• Business restructurings
• Commercial litigation tied to insolvency
• Assignments for the benefit of creditors
• Receiverships and bankruptcy alternatives
• Pre‑ and post‑bankruptcy planning
• Complex, multi‑jurisdictional issues involving state, national, and international law
The practice is deeply business‑focused. Attorneys are expected to understand the client’s commercial goals and craft solutions that are practical, efficient, and aligned with long‑term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
• Represent corporate debtors in sophisticated Chapter 11 matters
• Handle a mix of transactional, court, and deal‑making work
• Develop creative restructuring strategies tailored to client business needs
• Manage complex cases involving multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions
• Draft and negotiate restructuring agreements, motions, and related filings
• Work collaboratively with a highly experienced team of bankruptcy attorneys
Qualifications
• Significant experience in Chapter 11 corporate debtor representation
• Strong understanding of the Bankruptcy Code, business law, and insolvency principles
• Ability to think on your feet, pivot quickly, and craft creative solutions
• Comfort with both litigation and transactional components of bankruptcy practice
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• California Bar preferred (or willingness to sit for CA Bar)
