Job Description

General Manager (Meat Production & Distribution)

Location: South Atlanta, GA (Onsite)

Position Overview: The General Manager will lead, manage, and drive the strategic vision for a premier 100,000 sq. ft. full-service production facility generating $300+ million in annual revenue. Operating with an entrepreneurial spirit, the ideal candidate will treat the facility as their own business, taking complete ownership of the P&L and cultivating a robust culture of servant leadership. This completely onsite role requires leading an overall team of 350 employees with 5 to 6 direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage the strategic vision of the plant toward aggressive business growth.

  • P&L Ownership: Handle daily operational and financial issues that contribute directly to the facility's P&L.

  • Corporate Planning: Participate directly in corporate Long Range Planning initiatives.

  • Team Development: Act as a servant leader by mentoring, motivating, developing the team, and actively removing operational barriers.Drive team building and establish a collaborative, accountable organizational culture.

  • Business Direction: Deeply understand key business drivers to provide necessary support and direction across all departments of the plant.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Management Experience: Minimum of 10 years of M&L management experience, with a preferred background as a Director of Operations, Director of Production, Plant Manager, or General Manager in the perishable food industry. 

  • Industry Expertise: strong background in food production environments with at least a basic understanding of the meat industry.

  • Financial Acumen: Proven experience managing a P&L, ideally between $100M–$200M (a minimum of $50M will be considered).

  • Leadership Qualities: Must be a decisive, strong communicator who prioritizes leadership development and employee success.

  • Schedule & Location: Present onsite to support operations 5 days a week, with flexibility for some weekend hours.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $220,000–$225,000 base salary + 40% annual bonus based on performance. Eligible for LTIs, including significant base rate increase, after 3 years.
