Job Description

Turner Staffing Group is seeking Mill Laborers to support processing plant operations at a large mining operation near Fairbanks, Alaska . This role provides essential support to mill operations by performing general labor, housekeeping, and maintenance tasks across the processing facility.

This is a site-based position , and transportation to the mine site is provided via shuttle from the Fairbanks area .

Position Overview

The Mill Laborer performs heavy physical tasks within the processing operations department and provides assistance to mill operators and maintenance personnel. Responsibilities include plant housekeeping, snow removal, conveyor and sump cleaning, and general labor required to keep the mill operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties throughout the processing plant

• Assist mill operators and maintenance personnel with operational tasks

• Remove snow and ice from plant walkways and work areas

• Maintain clean conveyor areas and plant workspaces

• Clean out sumps and assist with plant housekeeping activities

• Operate light equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, or similar equipment

• Safely use hand tools and small equipment

• Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification, and incident reporting

• Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping across the site

• Support daily plant operations and complete other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to perform heavy physical labor in a mining or industrial environment

• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly

• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Ability to work safely and follow operational procedures

• Ability to pass a background check and post-offer physical

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating small equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, or scissor lifts

• Previous experience in mining, construction, or industrial environments

• Basic computer literacy

• Familiarity with MSHA safety requirements

Work Environment

This role is based at an active mining operation and involves work in a physically demanding environment that may include:

• Exposure to cold weather, snow, dust, noise, and industrial equipment

• Frequent lifting, walking, climbing stairs, and working outdoors

• Working around processing plant equipment and operational machinery

Additional Requirements

• Must be local to Alaska

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without work visa sponsorship

• Ability to safely work at an active mine site

• Transportation to the mine site is provided via shuttle from Fairbanks
