The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Administration Services has an opening for an Analyst III in the Human Resources Branch. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 18th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

Working Conditions

Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position and might be expected to comply with after July 1, 2026.

Salary Information - CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted along with the State Application and serves as documentation of candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. It should be typed, no more than two (2) pages in length, using 12-point Arial font , and normal margins. The SOQ must be titled, “Statement of Qualifications” and the SOQ questions must be answered in numerical order.

1. Describe your background, experience, and/or training that makes you the best candidate for the Performance Management Analyst position.

2. Describe your experience with providing consultation to supervisors and managers on the progressive discipline process.

3. Describe your knowledge and experience in writing progressive discipline documents. Please provide specific examples, including the employer and document type(s) for each example.

4. Describe your knowledge and experience conducting investigations and writing investigative reports.  Please include the employer and dates of when you conducted investigations and prepared investigative reports.
