Overview

Location: Hagerstown, MD 21740
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours), Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary Range: $19 – $21 per hour

Description

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our administrative and procedural services team. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of in-office procedures, hospital surgeries, and outpatient surgery center scheduling. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, logical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring a smooth and positive experience for patients.

This is a on-site role that plays a critical part in supporting both patients and providers by ensuring accurate scheduling, benefit verification, and timely authorization processing.

Responsibilities

• Obtain surgery benefits for all scheduled procedures.
• Secure required prior authorizations from insurance carriers.
• Meet with patients to review their benefits and explain any out-of-pocket expenses.
• Coordinate surgery scheduling with hospitals, outpatient centers, and in-office procedure teams.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant experience with medical terminology.
• Understanding of insurance processes, prior authorizations, and benefit structures.
• Ability to file, sit for extended periods, talk, and hear as required for daily duties.
• Strong communication skills, logical thinking, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates ability to perform the position responsibilities.
• Must be able to reliably commute to Hagerstown, MD 21740.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• OB/GYN experience preferred.
• Clinically trained preferred.
