Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technical Editor/Writerfor a contract opportunity in Grand Prairie, TX.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) 3-5 years experience
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Arbortext and UltraEdit or similar tools 3-5 years experience
  • Experience and proficiency as a technical writer 3-5 years experience
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-2361, MIL-PRF-63002 for Modification Work Orders, and MIL-PRF-63033 for Demilitarization 3-5 years experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat (Standard/Professional). 3-5 years experience
  • Ability to write using clear and concise language that adheres to customer-established standards and conventions. 3-5 years experience
  • Ability to research and write technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures 3-5 years experience
  • Ability to acquire and verify subject matter content by consulting with other disciplines engaged in developing products, observing production methods, referring to engineering drawings, notes, manuals, and similar publications. 3-5 years experience
  • Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development experience 3-5 years experience
  • Graphics illustration experience and skills using graphics tools such as ISO draw or similar graphics tools 3-5 years experience

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate will perform as a Technical Publications Multimedia Engineer supporting the Precision Fires line of business including MLRS, HIMARS, GMLRS, ATACMS, and PrSM programs. Position requires preparation of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals, other technical publications, Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs), Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTL) and graphics in accordance with applicable military standard and commercial requirements. Position will also coordinate and support technical meetings with the customer and team members to ensure compliance is met during exchange of documentation between associate and sub-contractors to ensure materials are developed in accordance with all applicable military and commercial requirements. Candidate will also assist with development and populating technical data in the Logistics Management Information (LMI) system compliant with GEIA-STD-0007.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience leading or supporting Technical Publication Validation and Verification events 3-5 years experience
  • Proficiency using Interactive Authoring and Display System (IADS) 4.0 software 3-5 years experience
  • Experience working with stylesheets including Extensible Stylesheet Language Formatting Objects (XSL-FO), Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation (XSLT) and scripting 3-5 years experience
  • Working knowledge of Content Management Systems such as WindChill or S1000D Common Source Database 3-5 years experience
  • Proficiency with Logistics Management Information (LMI) systems compliant with GEIA-STD-0007 3-5 years experience
  • Proficiency with SLIC Wave LMI system 3-5 years experience
  • Proficiency with Power Log J LMI system 3-5 years experience
  • Experience leading or supporting Logistics Demonstration events 3-5 years experience
  • Past military experience 3-5 years experience
  • Past experience as MLRS or HIMARS Launcher Operator and/or MLRS Maintenance Technician 3-5 years experience
  • Proficiency with Pro-E Creo or similar Computer Aided Drafting tools in a 3D environment. 3-5 years experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Accredited Bachelor's Degree.

WORK HOURS:

  • 4/10-1st Shift.
  • Candidate must be willing to work overtime and travel as needed to support program requirements.

ADDITIONAL:

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
